Kazakh enterprise to increase production of primary iron ore concentrate

Kazakhstan's Sokolov-Sarbaisky Mining Production Association plans to increase production of primary iron ore concentrate to 18 million tons a year, Kazakhstan Today reports, referring to the Kostanay region akimat's press service.

According to the akimat's report, construction of technological section 17 in SSMPA will be complete in the subsequent six months. The project will allow the largest mining enterprise in the region to increase production by 1.2 million tones of iron ore concentrate with 66 percent of iron content, which will enable to produce more than 18 million tons of primary iron ore concentrate per year.

Launching this object will enable to increase the enterprise's turnover of commodity output, volume of exports to Russia and China, and Kazakhstan's competitiveness in foreign markets, the same source added.

Sokolov-Sarbaisky Mining Production Association is the leading mining and iron ore processing company in Kazakhstan. This company is part of the Eurasian Natural Resources Corporation (ENRC).
