Uzbek-British Council meeting discussed in Uzbekistan

Uzbek-British Trade and Industry Council (UBTIC) Co-Chairman Hartley Booth discussed the preparation for the council's eighteenth meeting with Uzbek officials, a source in the Uzbek governmental circles told Trend on Friday.

The agency's interlocutor said the UBTIC meeting is planned to be held in London on November 17.

Booth held talks during his visit to Tashkent, in particular with co-chairman of the Uzbek side, Minister of Foreign Economic Relations, Investments and Trade Ravshan Gulyamov.

The sides stressed the positive results of the existing bilateral relations in trade. They also discussed the prospects for advancing trade and economic cooperation between Great Britain and Uzbekistan to a new level.

The British Embassy and the British Council in Tashkent organized the business discussion on "New opportunities for the Uzbek-British business" during Booth's visit. British businessmen, working in Uzbekistan, and Uzbek businessmen - members of the Uzbek Chamber of Commerce attended the event.
