Azerbaijan ups export of chemicals

Azerbaijan exported chemicals amounting to $77.37 million in January-September, which is more by 2.29 times compared to the same period 2010. The figure makes up 0.39 percent of total exports, the State Customs Committee said.

Azerbaijan mainly exported (86.73 percent in the first eight months) crude oil. The country exported crude oil worth $17.125 billion in January-September, or 26.21 percent more compared to the same period of 2010.

During the report period, the country exported oil products at the amount of $1.1 billion (increased by 14.94 percent). The figure amounted to 5.6 percent of total exports.

The country exported ferrous metals and wares worth $156.15 million (increased by 81.38 percent; 0.79 percent of total exports), tobacco and tobacco products - worth $6.96 million (60.33 percent and 0.04 percent), cotton purified from the seeds - worth $4.5 million (95.63 percent and 0.02 percent, respectively), aluminum and wares - worth $3.87 million (88.37 percent and 0.02 percent, respectively), fruits and vegetables - worth $118.8 million (72.5 percent and 0.6 percent, respectively) alcoholic and soft drinks - worth $9.86 million (decreased by 8.79 percent and 0.05 percent of share capital), and vegetable oils and animal fats - worth $141.08 million (decreased by 0.59 percent; 0.71 percent of total export).

Azerbaijan's export operations amounted to $19.75 billion, or 26.03 percent more compared to the same period of 2010. Imports amounted to $6.87 billion, or 51.12 percent more compared to the same period of 201

The total volume of the country's trade made $26.616 billion, or 31.67 percent more compared to the same period of 2010.
