Uzbek-German JV to build new assembly unit for trucks and heavy vehicles

The Uzbek-German joint venture MAN Auto-Uzbekistan will commission an assembly unit for trucks and heavy vehicles worth $29.4 million in the Samarkand region of Uzbekistan by the summer of 2012, KirTAG reported.

According to Uzbek President Islam Karimov's decree, an accelerated schedule of the project's implementation and its funding sources were approved.

The construction of the plant will be financed by the JV founders' own funds amounting to $27.3 million and foreign investments worth $2.1 million.

According to the announcement, trailer production worth $30 million is planned to be mastered by late 2012.

MAN Auto-Uzbekistan JV started constructing a new complex to produce heavy vehicles worth $210 million in April.
