Number of registration transactions increases in Georgia

The number of registration transactions on the Georgian real estate market increased in October by 20.7 percent to 39,956 units compared to the same period of 2010.

The October figure rose compared to October 2007 (24.9 percent), October 2008 (42.5 percent) and October 2009 (26.1 percent), the Georgian National Statistics Office (Gruzstat) reported today.

The monthly registration transactions index increased to 1,288, which is significantly higher than the index during the same period last year-1,068.

It is obvious that the primary and secondary real estate markets grew compared to the same period in 2010 (4.9 percent and 24.2 percent respectively) and reduced compared to the previous month (32.6 percent and 10.2 percent).

The number of primary registration transactions in October 2011 amounted to 6,415 units, secondary - 33 ,541. The monthly index of primary and secondary registration transactions amounted to 0.690 and 1.545.

As for the relation of primary and secondary markets, the proportion of secondary registration transactions slightly increased: secondary - 86.3 percent, primary - 13.7 percent.
