President of Kyrgyzstan Roza Otunbaeva signed the law on ratification of the agreement on financing of Osh-Batken-Isfana road rehabilitation by the International Development Association, CA-NEWS reported.
The Parliament passed this law on 20 October 2011.
The agreement was signed with the International Development Association on 25 July 2011 in Bishkek.
The Board of Directors of the World Bank approved the second additional financing in the amount of $16 million on June 28, 2011. $8.8 million was extended as highly concessional loan and $7.2 million as a grant.
This agreement will finance construction of the additional section of Osh-Batken-Isfana road, including Nookat pass stretching for 18 km, and will provide technical assistance for improvement of road assets in Kyrgyzstan.
