The Economist Conference will be held at the Radisson hotel in Tbilisi on Wednesday by the organization support of the world's leading publication Economist.

The conference will fundamentally analyze investment prospects of Georgia through free and transparent debates.

"We plan to determine the potential of the market economy in Georgia and to present the reality of investing in Georgia in a perspective of international investors' interest," Douglas Thompson, the chairman of the Tbilisi Summit, a program director of Economist Conferences, noted. "We do not say to all invest in Georgia. Our goal is to openly and honestly talk about Georgia, as an attractive and interesting investment environment. The conference will focus investors' interests to enable them to decide whether Georgia is a favorable market."

During the event the heads of international companies will discuss possible results of their investments and international policy attitudes, which are implemented in today's business reality in Georgia. "Of course, tourism is the most important factor in the development of Georgian economy. But we shouldn't also forget the definition of strategic development of trade and business," Rezidor company Senior Vice President of Business Development Arild Hovland noted.

The conference will be attended by senior government officials of Georgia, including the Prime Minister Nika Gilauri, Finance Minister Dmitry Gvindadze, Economy Minister Vera Kobalia, Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure Ramaz Nikolaishvili, Deputy Energy Minister Giorgi Kavelashvili, leader of the Free Democrats Irakli Alasania. They will deliver reports on the fundamental issues related to the investment environment and the economy of Georgia.

In addition, World Bank Country Director for the South Caucasus Asad Alam, head of Moldova and Belarus of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development Paul Henry Forester, Knauf group executive director for CIS countries Gerd Lang, Carnegie Endowment senior partner Tom de Waal, director general of Bank of Georgia Irakli Gilauri, businessman and politician Bendukidze and others will speak at the conference.
