Azerbaijan will continue to increase the plastic card market in 2012, AzeriCard Business Development Processing Center Chief Jahangir Mammadov told Trend.
"The processes that occur in the country to promote growth in cashless payments and in electronic commerce develop the plastic cards market in 2012," Mamedov said.
According to Mammadov, Azerbaijani banks should hold a special bonus shares and thereby motivate their clients in order to stimulate the further growth of noncash payments.
"The number of cards maintained at the AzeriCard processing center, since the beginning of the year remains at a stable level. There are about 7,000 POS-terminals and 1,300 cash dispensers, served by the center," Mammadov said.
