China took the leading place among Turkmenistan's trade partners in January-September 2011, the Turkmen Institute of Strategic Planning and Economic Development said today.
According to the information, the volume of Turkmen exports increased by 4.5 times, while growth in imports from China amounted to 116 percent during this period.
The products for industrial purposes, metal products, equipment, vehicles and other items are imported from China to Turkmenistan.
Agricultural products are exported from Turkmenistan to China.
China ranked fourth among Turkmenistan's trading partners as a result of Turkmenistan's foreign trade turnover for 2010. Foreign trade turnover between the two countries in 2010 increased by 57 percent compared to 2009.
The volume of Turkmen exports increased by 67 times, while imports decreased by 42 percent.
The volume of mutual trade increased by 2.8 times in January-September compared to the same period of 2010.
