Iran has signed mutual agreements with 60 countries to attract and support foreign investments in addition to the agreement with 40 countries to avoid double taxation, the dolat.ir website quoted Seyed Shamseddin Hosseini, Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance as saying.

Minister said that foreign investments in Iran increased by 124 percent.

Based on this index, Iran's economy ranks 20th in the world and although $3.7 billion in foreign investments last year were good, it is not enough given economic conditions, Hosseini said.

Iran's economy is under increasing strain as the U.S. and its allies step up the efforts to impose oil sanctions against Iran.
