US Dollar's exchange rate against the Armenian Dram (AMD) recorded a considerable growth at NASDAQ OMX Armenia stock exchange on Monday, the country's first work day of 2012. And as a result of trading, one dollar's average exchange rate comprised AMD 387.25, News.am reported.
To note, however, the stock exchange did not enjoy a particularly great demand for the dollar with such high exchange rate. And only one transaction was conducted, and a mere $100 thousand were sold.
During the holidays (December 31-January 8), the dollar's exchange rate fluctuated between AMD 380-388 at Armenia's exchange offices. And on Monday the majority of these offices raised one dollar's purchase exchange rate to up to AMD 386, but the sale exchange rate did not substantially change.
