Kazakhstan significantly increased machine building industry production in 2011, the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies reported.
"Following the systematic governmental measures to support the machine building industry support, the volume of production in this sphere hit 447 billion tenge ($3 billion) in January to November 2011," the Ministry said.
The volume of production in machine building industry made up 342.5 billion tenge in January to December 2010.
Moreover, labor productivity grew by 137.9 percent in January to November 2011 compared to the same period of 2010 from $11,000 per person to $15,200 per person.
Oil and gas machine building production increased by 62.8 percent in January to November 2011.
According to the Ministry, these results were achieved following the implementation of the state program of forced industrial-innovative development in 2010-2014.
Industrialization map developed for machine building industry under this program envisages implementation of 59 new projects with about 14,000 new working places by 2014.
