In January-November 2011, about 57,200 cars were imported into Azerbaijan. It is 21.1 percent more than the same period of 2010, Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee told Trend on Thursday.
According to the report, the total cost of imported cars amounted to $569.85 million in January-November 2011 or 39.5 percent more than in January-November 2010.
Some 5,312 trucks were imported into Azerbaijan in January-November 2011, or 36.2 percent more than in January-November 2010. The total cost of imported cars totaled $118.4 million, or 32.3 percent more than in 2010.
The country imported 544 buses in January-November 2011, or 28.4 percent less than in January-November 2010. Buses worth about $22 million were imported in January-November 2011 or 40.8 percent less than the same period of 2010.
Some 727 trucks were produced in Azerbaijan in 2011, or 5.2 percent less than in 2010.
During this period, 556 cars were produced in the country or 14.4 percent more than the same period of 2010.
