Iran is the top exporter of pistachio in the world, accounting for some 46 percent of the global exports, the ISNA news agency reported.
Iranian pistachios are mainly exported to China, the CIS states, the Far East and the European countries, the report added.
Iran's pistachio output amounts to around 200,000 tons annually, some one third of the global production.
The U.S. and Turkey rank the second and the third, with 32 percent and 12 percent of the total global output, respectively.
