The heads of Adzharia and Nakhchivan have agreed to cooperate closely.
An agreement was reached on Friday in Batumi at a meeting of the two autonomous republics.
Head of Adzharia Levan Varshalomidze and Chairman of the Supreme Majlis of Nakhchivan AR Vasif Talibov discussed issues on cooperation in Batumi, on Friday.
The parties agreed to set up several working committees on different directions, Varshalomidze said after the meeting.
"It is cooperation in the field of tourism, sport, culture and economy. We have agreed to cooperate closely in these areas," Varshalomidze said.
Talibov noted that it is the first visit to Adzharia and the establishment of cooperation in various fields should be the outcome of it.
"We are ready to cooperate and have received concrete proposals at the moment," Talibov said.
