German company to invest in Kazakhstan chemical industry

Kazakhstan's national social entrepreneur company Pavlodar signed a memorandum of cooperation with German company MRM International during Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev's official visit to Germany, Pavlodar said on Thursday.

This memorandum envisages cooperation on the development of the country's existing chemical production and to attract direct foreign investments to the special economic zone of Pavlodar.

Under the agreement, MRM International will provide technology transfer to a special economic zone and contribute towards introducing best practice in operational processes.
Opening of the modern chemical site will enhance the existing chlorine-alkaline production, as well as introduce sulphuric acid production up to 180,000 tons per year, suspension polyvinyl chloride up to 50,000 tons, phosphorus trichloride up to 40,000 tons and calcium hypochlorite up to 20,000 tons per year.

MRM International (Munich, Germany) is an investment, consulting company specialising in the chemical industry, medical and clean technology, car, aerospace and satellite navigation. The company is the founder of the European Investment Forum.

Special economic zone Pavlodar was established in 2011. Its objective is to introduce new export oriented production, including deep processing of chemical and petrochemical products to get a product with a high added value.
