As a result of the "single-window" principle for businesses registering in Azerbaijan, the country's private sector saved more than $23 million on the registration procedures, International Finance Corporation (IFC) representative in Azerbaijan Aliya Azimova said at
the forum "Tax System in Azerbaijan: realities and perspectives" today.
She said a main direction of cooperation between the Tax Ministry and the IFC, which began in 2007, is to simplify entrepreneurship registration.
"As a result of these reforms, business registration increased by 30 percent for the first 18 months," she said.
The use of the single window principle has increased the efficiency and transparency of state governance in this sphere, she said.
The American Chamber of Commerce in Azerbaijans's (AMCHAM Azerbaijan) deputy chairman, Alum Bati, said a primary condition for a successful fiscal policy is to strengthen the ties between public associations of entrepreneurs and tax bodies.
"The Azerbaijani Tax Ministry is working quite well," Bati said.
The single window business registration system opened in Azerbaijan in 2008.
