Trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan declines by almost 17 percent in 2011

The volume of trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan declined by 16.7 percent to $60.2 million in 2011, the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said on Tuesday.

The volume of trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan declined by 16.7 percent to $60.2 million in 2011, the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said on Tuesday.

State Statistics Committee said the Uzbek-Azerbaijan trade volume amounted to $72.3 million in 2010.

The volume of exports to Azerbaijan declined by 11.2 percent to $34.1 million in 2011, while imports from Azerbaijan declined by 23 percent to 26.1 million.

State Statistics Committee noted that the largest trade partner of Uzbekistan is Russia, which accounts for 26.2 percent of the foreign trade of the country.

Uzbek-Russian trade turnover increased by 8.9 percent up to $6 billion 688.3million in 2011. Exports of Uzbekistan to Russia increased by 6 percent up to $4 billion 405.5 million, while imports from Russia increased by 14 8 percent, up to $2 billion 282.8 million.

Kazakhstan with a share of total foreign trade turnover of 10.9 percent, the volume of trade with which increased by 47.1 percent, China - 10.2 percent (an increase of 18.9 percent), South Korea - 6.4 percent (0.4 percent), Turkey - 4.7 percent (22.8 percent), Afghanistan - 3.1 percent (21.8 percent), Ukraine - 2.6 percent (18, 3 percent), Germany - 2.2 percent (13.8 percent), Turkmenistan - 1.8 percent (an increase of 68.8 percent), became other major trade partners of Uzbekistan at the end of 2011.
The foreign trade turnover of Uzbekistan increased by 15 percent up to $25 billion 537.1 million in 2011 compared to 2010.

Exports increased by 15.4 percent up to $15 billion 27.2 million, imports increased by 14.5 percent up to $10.51 billion.

Foreign trade surplus amounted to $4.517 billion compared to 4.247 million the previous year (growth - by 6 percent).

State Statistics Committee noted that foreign trade increased by 18.6 percent up to $11 billion 110.1 million with the CIS countries and by 12.4 percent, up to $14 billion 427 million with non-CIS countries in 2011.

Uzbekistan increased its exports to the CIS countries by 19 percent, up to $6 billion 720.1 million and by 12.6 percent, to $8 billion 307.1 million to the foreign countries in 2011.

Imports increased by 18 percent to $ 4 billion 390 million from the CIS countries and by 12.2 percent up to $6 billion 119.9 million from other countries.
The share of CIS countries in the structure of foreign trade turnover was 43.5 percent at the end of 2011 compared to 42.2 percent a year earlier, the share of far abroad was 56.5 percent compared to 57.8 percent.
