Some 56.9 per cent, or 4,913,639 hectares have been preserved in public ownership, 23.5 per cent, or 2,032,744 hectares were transferred to municipal ownership and 19.6 per cent, or 1695 123 hectares of 8,641,506 hectares of land resources of Azerbaijan have been privatised in 2011.

Some 56.9 per cent, or 4,913,639 hectares have been preserved in public ownership, 23.5 per cent, or 2,032,744 hectares were transferred to municipal ownership and 19.6 per cent, or 1695 123 hectares of 8,641,506 hectares of land resources of Azerbaijan have been privatised in 2011.

The Chairman of State Minister for Land and Cartography Garib Mammadov mentioned it at a board meeting on Wednesday.

"Some 3,428,136 individuals from 871 220 families received land from 3,438,625 individuals from the 873,618 families who were given land areas on December 31, 2011. It is the 99.7 per cent of individuals with the right to receive shares of land that will be privatised. Some 1,393,274 hectares, or 99.8 per cent of land which was part of the former state and collective farms and other agricultural enterprises and targeted for privatisation, were transferred to private ownership," Mr Mamedov said.

He noted that, the State Committee organised 2398 auctions and tenders for various municipalities of the country in 201, and about 5200 from 2009 to date.
