Georgia's foreign trade turnover with EU countries in January 2012 amounted to $193 million, the Georgian Statistics Service told Trend on Friday.
According to the report, that is 23 per cent more than the same period in 2011. Exports totalled $37 million (20 per cent more), imports - $155 million (24 per cent more).
Thirty per cent of Georgia's foreign trade turnover accounts for the EU countries, including exports - 24 per cent and imports - 32 per cent (in January 2011, 26, 21 and 28 per cent respectively).
Some 35 per cent of the trade deficit (in January 2011 - 31 per cent) accounted for the EU countries.
