Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has been studying designs of projects under construction and those planned by the Turkish company Polimeks, the newspaper Neutral Turkmenistan said today.

An international capital airport complex is among the projects. The article says that the head of state stressed that the basic requirements for all facilities constructed in the country, are of the highest quality.

President Berdimuhamedov made a number of comments and proposals to the projects.
German companies EWC and Hoshtief, French Bouygues and VINCI Construction are also involved in the international tender for this project.

The current capital airport was built in 1990s. At present, Ashgabat makes regular flights to Azerbaijan, Great Britain, Germany, Russia, Turkey, China, Iran, Pakistan, India and the UAE. Routes to Ukraine, Belarus and Kazakhstan have been recently added. Negotiations are underway to open flight routes to France, Italy, Canada and other cities in the world.
