Azerbaijan to purchase 3000 breeding stock from Germany and Austria

Some 3270 head of breeding dairy cattle from Austria and Germany worth 11 million manat, allocated by the state leasing company Agroleasing, were purchased in 2009-2011. This is stated in the report of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Agriculture.

'Some 170 animals worth over 300,000 manat were sent to the Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic', the statement said.

The number of breeding animals purchased in 2009-2011 has increased to 5000, and it is expected that the figure will increase to 6000 by the end of May 2012.

Some 600,000 manat out of 10 million allocated from the reserve fund of the President in 2012, were designated to Nakhichevan AR.

"It is expected that a purchase 3000 heads of breeding animals from Germany and Austria will take place for the remaining 9.4 million manat by the end of the year. The relevant tender was held on March 15" the statement said.

AgroLeasing OJSC was established on October 23, 2004 by order of the Azerbaijani President, Ilham Aliyev.

The enterprise is aimed at improving the agricultural area and maintaining entrepreneurship in the country through introducing agricultural machinery to local farmers and land owners in the country through leasing.
