Iran has the capacity to export seven million litres of jet fuel per day, the managing director of the National Iranian Oil Production and Distribution Company (NIOPDC) said.

Jalil Salari added that the jet fuel is meeting the International Air Transport Association (IATA) standards, according to Pana news agency.

He also said that the country has the capacity to produce 11 million litters of jet fuel per day.

Iran started hiking up its jet fuel production capacity after U.S. President Barack Obama signed the toughest ever U.S. sanctions on Iran in December 2011,aimed at choking off Tehran's access to imports of refined petroleum products like jet fuel and curbing its access to the international banking system.
