Last summer, the price on houses put for sale in Iran increased by 19.5 percent per square meter while the average price on rents plus three percent down payment increased by 14.2 percent, Mehr news agency reports.
According to the Iranian Statistical Centre's report, the average price on a square meter of land or tear-down residential building was 19,681 rials (a little more than $1.6) in summer 2011, or almost 19 percent more than in spring and 24.5 percent more than in summer 2010.
The average price for rent plus a three percent deposit was 110,040 rials ($8.97) in summer 2011, or 3.1 percent more than in spring and 14.2 percent more than in summer 2010.
The official exchange rate in Iran is 12,260 rials to $1.
