The volume of money transfers received by Georgia in March totalled $108.1 million, or 5.4 million more than the same period of 2011.
According to the National Bank of Georgia, 91.8 per cent of all transfers accounted for 11 major donors, where money transfers exceeded $1 million. Some 90.7 per cent of money transfers accounted for the same countries in March last year.
The largest volume of money transfers in March again accounted for Russia 56.4 million, or 52.2 per cent of all transfers. It is followed by Greece 12.3 million (11.3 per cent), Italy 9.8 million (9.1 per cent), United States 6.8 million (6.3 per cent), Ukraine 3.9 million (3.6 per cent), Spain- 2.7 million (2.5 per cent), Turkey 2.5 million (2.3 per cent), United Kingdom 1.4 million (1.3 per cent), Israel 1.2 million (1.1 per cent), India 1.2 million (1.1 per cent) and Germany 1.1 million (1 per cent).
In March Georgia transferred $8.4 million (13.9 million lari) abroad compared to $7.2 million (12.3 million lari) in the same period last year.
