Uzbekistan plans to implement electro-technical projects worth $ 40 million

"Uzeltehprom" association uniting the enterprises of electro-technical industry in Uzbekistan in 2012 plans to launch four investment projects with a total project cost $40.5 million, chairman of the association Tabriz Jalilov said at the presentation of new legislative acts to improve the investment climate in the country.

Jalilov said that "Uzeltehprom" plans to proceed with organizing the production of security systems, video surveillance, which has no analogue in Central Asia this year. The cost of the project is about $4 million, the design capacity - up to 50,000 units per year, the planned volume of exports - 25 percent of total production.

It is planned to start a project for the production of LED lamps worth $ 20 million and production capacity at the initial stage of 50,000 units, the project for the production of refrigerators and air conditioners worth $ 11 million and the project for the production of small household electrical appliances worth $ 5.5 million this year.

"All projects are export-oriented," he said. "They are open for foreign investors and the involvement of foreign direct investments."

The presentation was organized by the Uzbek Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations, Investments and Trade and Chamber of Commerce and Industry to familiarize representatives of foreign business circles, representatives of enterprises with foreign capital operating in the territory of Uzbekistan, representative offices of foreign companies and international organizations, with guarantees, privileges and preferences established in the country earlier and supplemented by the decree of President Karimov on "Additional measures to stimulate foreign direct investments."
