It's necessary to develop Kazakhstan's transport logistics to increase the competitiveness of the country's goods, a shareholder of the Eurasian Natural Resources Corporation (ENRC), Alexander Mashkevich, believes.

"An important factor in developing the competitiveness of Kazakh goods today is the development of transport logistics. Now, we can say the era of logistics came. By eliminating transportation costs it's possible to achieve a multiple increase in GDP growth in Kazakhstan," Mashkevich said, speaking in Astana on Tuesday at the 25th plenary session of the Foreign Investors' Council under the Kazakh President on "Kazakhstan - international trade, logistics, business and financial hub".

In his view, the lack of Kazakhstan's direct access to open seas today is not so important in case of profitable neighborhood with China.

Mashkevich said the ENRC intends to increase the supply of iron ore to China to 10 million tons per year.

"In this regard we offer Kazakhstan Railways to upgrade routes to China," Mashkevich said.

ENRC is one of the world's leading groups in the field of mining and processing mineral resources, with integrated mining, processing, energy and logistics companies.

ENRC operates in Kazakhstan, China, Russia, Brazil and African countries (the Democratic Republic of Congo, Zambia, Mozambique and South Africa).
