Cooperation prospects with FAO discussed in Dushanbe

Strengthening and expansion the cooperation between Tajikistan and the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) were discussed at the meeting between Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic Nizomiddin Zohidov and regional representative of the organization in Central Asia Mustapha Sinaceur on Wednesday, CA-News reported.

"Stressing the active participation of the Tajik delegation in the FAO Regional Conference for Europe, held in Baku on April 20, the FAO representative briefed Deputy Foreign Minister about some decisions of the event," the Ministry said.

Zohidov stressed the importance of FAO in the implementation of the strategic objectives of the Tajik government - achieving food security, and assured his interlocutor of the Republic's readiness to expand cooperation with FAO.

"The contribution of FAO in the implementation of agrarian reform in the country was also stressed at the meeting," the Foreign Ministry added.
