Number of profitable banks in Azerbaijan reached 36 in March 2012, increasing by 2 compared to February 2012 and March 2011, the National Bank of Azerbaijan said.
General income of the banking system amounted to 49.31 million manat, increasing by 62.8 percent compared to March 2011 and decrease by 0.56 percent compared to February 2012.
Number of unprofitable banks reduced by two compared to February 2012 and March 2011 which is lowest level for more than two years (below was only in December 2009 - seven). Loss of eight banks amounted to 13.42 mln manat, which is 32.22 percent increase over February 2012 and 22.11 percent over March 2011.
