Azerbaijani transport system has coped with the assigned tasks within Eurovision-2012 song contest with dignity, head of the secretariat of the Transport Ministry Namig Hasanov told Trend on Sunday.
He said that the transport infrastructure was working in emergency mode those days. It was mobilized to ensure safe and quality transportation of tourists arriving in Azerbaijan.
Heydar Aliyev International Airport, Baku Railway Station, Baku International Bus Station ensured the transportation of tourists and visitors at a high level, Hasanov said.
The official delegations were provided with 43 Neoplan cars, 43 BMW cars, 5 Mercedes Sprinter cars. All vehicles are equipped with online-monitoring.
About 178 trained and accredited drivers worked within the contest. All vehicles passed a special technical inspection.
In general, 154 buses, 50 microbuses, 60 BMW cars, 1,700 taxis (1,000 London Taxi) and five trucks were used within the contest.
