Iran Alumina Company has signed a deal with Tajikistan to export alumina and aluminum hydrate to the Central Asian nation, the IRNA News Agency reported.
According to the deal, Iran Alumina Company will export 100,000 tons of alumina powder and 100,000 tons of aluminum hydrate, worth $80 million, within 20 months to Tajikistan.
Iran produced some 303,000 tons of aluminum ingots in the first eleven months of the current calendar year, ended on February 19, 2012, showing around 10 percent rise compared with the same period last year, the Mehr News Agency reported.
IRALCO was the main producer with over 159,000 tons of output, the report added.
