Uzbekistan, Ireland sign the Convention on avoidance of double taxation

Uzbekistan and Ireland signed Convention on avoidance of double taxation and prevention of income and property tax evasion, Uzbek State Tax Committee of Uzbekistan said.

The document was signed within State Tax Committee Chairman Botir Parpiev's visit to Dublin at the invitation of Ireland's Finance Ministry. Uzbekistan is the first country in the region of Central Asia with which Ireland has signed the similar document.

The parties stressed the importance of the signed Convention to expand bilateral investments and trade relations.

During the visit of the Uzbek delegation an enlarged meeting was held, which was attended by Revenue Service leadership and representatives of Foreign Ministry of Ireland.

The Uzbek State Tax Committee staff briefed the representatives of Irish business circles with the activities of tax authorities of Uzbekistan, on cooperation with foreign partners. In addition, the Irish side was informed about the priorities of socio-economic development of the country, on creation of investment climate in the country.
