Kazakh-Chinese trade turnover ups by 30 per cent in Jan.-May

The trade turnover between Kazakhstan and China increased by 29.8 per cent in January-May, compared to the first five months of 2011, Kazakh deputy minister of economic development Timur Zhaksylykov said today.

"The trade turnover between Kazakhstan and China in January-May this year amounted to $8.730 billion," Zhaksylykov said at the sixth meeting of the subcommittee on trade and economic cooperation of Kazakh-Chinese cooperation committee. This is 29.8 per cent more than the same period of 2011."

He stressed that a regular meeting on cooperation is being held during the year of the 20th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Kazakhstan and China.

"The amount of direct investments from China into Kazakh economy amounted to $6.150 billion during these years," deputy minister said.

He added that relations between the two countries are developing dynamically.
