Foreign investors reduces operations through Istanbul Stock Exchange

The volume of financial transactions conducted by foreign investors in the Istanbul Stock Exchange (IMKB), decreased by 6.8 percent in July 2012 compared to the same month in 2011, amounting to $8.5 billion, the Istanbul Stock Exchange said on Wednesday.

The volume of financial transactions decreased by 19.3 percent during January-July 2012, amounting to$71.5 billion compared to the same period in 2011.

The volume of net purchases by foreign investors of securities on the Istanbul Stock Exchange decreased by 2.4 percent in July compared to the same month in 2011, reaching $4.5 billion.

Financial transactions for the sale carried out by foreign investors in the Istanbul Stock Exchange decreased by 11.3 percent in July compared to July 2011, amounting to $4 billion.
