Industrial production index increases by 2.7 percent in Turkey

The industrial production index (IPI) in Turkey increased by 2.7 percent in June 2012 and hit 143 points compared to the same month in 2011, the Turkish Statistics Institute said in a report posted on its website on Wednesday.

The industrial production index (IPI) in Turkey increased by 2.7 percent in June 2012 and hit 143 points compared to the same month in 2011, the Turkish Statistics Institute said in a report posted on its website on Wednesday.

In June, the IPI increased by 1.9 percent compared to the previous month.

The IPI in mining operations in Turkey increased by 4.6 per cent in June, while in processing industry by 1.8 per cent and in production and distribution - by 9.2 percent.

The highest rate of the index was observed in production of intermediate goods. In June, it increased by 6.3 percent compared to the same period of 2011. The following is energy sector - 6.3 percent.
