Georgia will receive assistance from the European Commission of 60 million euros for agricultural reform and the promotion of economic integration into the EU.
According to the European Neighbourhood and Partnership Instrument, Georgia will receive this assistance in the framework of the Eastern Partnership.
'The first part of the programme provides support for agriculture where the emphasis will be placed on the development of small famer associations. This part will also help prepare government agencies to better respond to the needs of agriculture', the statement said.
The second part of the programme will contribute to institutional reforms in Georgia and the strengthening of the state institutions which are included in the preparation and implementation of the Association Agreement and the deep and comprehensive free trade area between the EU and Georgia.
