More than 19.3 million tons of goods were imported into Iran via sea and land borders during the first five months of the current Iranian year, which began on March 20, the deputy roads and urban development minister stated.
Some 21.8 million tons of goods were exported during the same period of time, Shahriyar Afandizadeh told the Mehr news agency.
The total value of Iran's imports and exports during the first five months of the current year amounted to $37.6 billion, the Customs Administration head Abbas Memarnejad announced on August 27.
The official added that Iran exported around $43.7 billion worth of non-oil goods in the past calendar year and imported some $61.8 billion worth of goods, to hit the unprecedented mark of $105 billion in annual trade.
