Over $14 bln invested in Azerbaijani regions’ development within II state program

Around 11 billion manat have been invested in the fixed capital within the second state program of socio-economic development in Azerbaijan.

Azerbaijani Economic Development Minister Shahin Mustafayev made this statement at a meeting with participation of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and entrepreneurs from the Aran economic zone, recently held in Beylagan region.

Mustafayev said that around 2.5 billion manat were invested in the Aran Economic Region, 173.4 million manat in the Upper Karabakh economic region within the program.

"More than 450 educational and 100 health facilities, including 121 educational and 24 medical institutions in Aran economic region, 14 educational and 4 health facilities in the Upper Karabakh economic region were built and renovated within the program," Mustafayev said.

He added that around 125 schools, 8 kindergartens, 14 health facilities, 13 cultural facilities, 16 youth and sports facilities were built for the first nine months of this year. Around 24 schools, 22 kindergartens and more than 10 health, youth and sports facilities were repaired. More than 270 social facilities are being constructed.

"After the second state program was adopted, hundreds of companies operating in the manufacturing, servicing and processing spheres have begun working," Mustafayev said. "Around 55,000 jobs were created due to these enterprises in Aran economic region, of which 38,000 - permanent, 11,000 in the Upper Karabakh economic area, of which 7,000 - permanent."

He added that around 386.6 million manat were allocated for entrepreneurs of Aran economic region through the National Entrepreneurship Support Fund under the Ministry. Around 24,500 new jobs were created. Around 27.6 million manat were allocated to the entrepreneurs of Upper Karabakh economic area. Around 1,540 new jobs were created.
