The Kazakh Land Management Agency proposes to increase the land tax on unused land by 10 times, the agency's head Kadirhan Otarov said today while speaking during the government meeting on "Measures on efficient use of land resources".

"It is planned to increase the land tax by 10 times for those who use the land plots irrationally and do not use the land," he said. "It is planned to slightly increase the land tax for the country's farms that comply with all the conditions of using the land."

He said all types of land tax hit 22 billion tenge, the share of land taxes paid in the entire country, is at a level of 0.01 percent. The share of all taxes, paid by the agricultural sector and agricultural enterprises, is six percent.
