Azerbaijan, Baku, Dec.10 /Trend F.Milad.

Liquid propane ranked first in the list of Iran's exported items in the first eight months of current Iranian calendar year, which began March 20, Iran's Customs Administration announced on Monday.

Liquid butane and propane are called LPG, is Iran's major export item.

Last solar year, Iran exported $2.06 billion worth of propane, and $1.3 billion worth of butane, according to Iran's Customs Organization.

Iran considers petrochemical and condensate exports as non-oil export items.

The country exported some 909 million dollars worth of LPG in the mentioned period.

LPG, which comprises propane and butane, comes mainly from oil rather than natural gas, but shippers and insurers are steering clear of Iranian supplies due to uncertainty over the scope of the new European Union sanctions.

In 2011 Iran exported some 4 million tons of LPG, worth $4 billion, Reuters reported in October 2012.

Deputy Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade Masoud Movahedi said on Sunday that Iran exported some 28 billion dollars worth of non-oil goods (including gas condensates) during the first eight months of current Iranian calendar year, which began March 20.

Among the non-oil exports, Urea with 866 million dollars and methanol with 758 million dollars were the next two main exported items during the mentioned period.

Last year Iran exported some $1.4 billion worth of methanol.

The Asian markets accounted for 95.4 percent of Iran's exports, in terms of volume, in the first seven months of the current Iranian calendar year, the ISNA News Agency reported on November 27.

Iran exported some 48 billion dollars worth of goods and technical and engineering services during the past Iranian calendar year, which ended March 19.

Movahedi said on December 4 that technical and engineering services exports accounted for 4 million dollars of the mentioned amount, IRIB News Agency reported.

Iran plans to exports 51 million dollars worth of non-oil goods and technical and engineering services by the end of current year (March 19, 2013).
