The Tam Iran Khodro Company has embarked on establishing a subway and steel plant in Iraq as well as an oil project in Turkmenistan, ISNA quoted the company's managing director Ali Sheikhzadeh as saying.

Deals with Iraqi sides will be finalized soon, he noted.

He referred to the neighbouring countries, the Central Asian nations and Iraq as being the main export destinations.

Iran's Ambassador to Iraq, Hassan Danaeifar has said that Tehran plans to export 12 billion dollars' worth of goods to its western neighbour by the end of the current Iranian calendar year (ending March 20, 2013).

He added that the figure stood at around 11 billion dollars last year.

In April, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said at a meeting with Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki that there is no barrier to the development of political, economic and cultural relations between Iran and its western neighbour.

In July, Iran and Turkmenistan signed a memorandum of understanding to increase the level of trade and economic relations between the two countries.

The two sides agreed to improve the volume of trade and economic ties to $10 billion within the next five years.
