The goods worth $384 million have been exported from Iran to Azerbaijan for the first eight months of the current year (a year in Iran starts on March 21), adviser on trade issues of the Iranian Embassy in Baku Farj Shahidi told Trend today.

He said that the export volume increased by 18.15 percent compared to the same period of last year.

Shahidi expressed hope that the export volume will rise to $ 600 million by the end of the year.

Cement, clinker, potatoes, petrochemicals, construction materials and food products are mainly exported from Iran to Azerbaijan, Shahidi said.

He said that the goods, mainly steel, iron, wood, and other products worth $37 million were exported from Azerbaijan to Iran during the period.

The relations between Azerbaijan and Iran are constantly developing in the trade, Shahidi said.

"Azerbaijan ranks eleventh in the list of countries to which Iran exports non-oil goods," Shahidi said.
