Iranian firms are launching poultry farms and renovating industrial slaughterhouses in Tajikistan, IRIB reported.
A slaughterhouse with the monthly production capacity of 600 tons, a chicken breeding farm and an egg-laying chicken farm have so far been established by Iranian companies in Tajikistan.
Tajikistan imports 90 percent of its need to chicken meat from Iran, Turkey, Brazil, and Russia.
In October, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and his Tajik counterpart Emomali Rahmon, in a meeting explored avenues for the further expansion of bilateral relations.
The two sides underlined the necessity for rapid and effective implementation of joint infrastructural projects in the field of energy, transportation, industry, agriculture, economy, science and culture.
