Some 56.614 million tons of cargo or 5.19 percent less than in 2011 were transported in 2012 by vehicles through Azerbaijan, the country's State Customs Committee said today.
Exports of cargo during this period amounted to 30.32 million tons, while imports - 9.58 million tons.
Some 252,250 tons of cargo were exported by sea, 2.91 million tons were exported by railway, 586,000 tons - by vehicles, 392,170 tons - air, and transportation by stationary vehicles amounted to 26.18 million tons in 2012.
Some 1.5 million tons of cargo were imported by sea, 6.02 million tons by railway, 1.94 million tons by vehicles, 21,130 tons of cargo by air.
Some 16.71 million tons of cargo were transited through the territory of Azerbaijan in 2012.
