Economic liberalization is an important process in Azerbaijan, head of the EU mission in Azerbaijan Roland Kobia said at the meeting of the Caspian-European Integration Business Club (CEIBC) on "Caspian-European dialogue" with extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassadors of EU countries and the Caspian and Black Sea region in Azerbaijan today.
"It is important in terms of expanding the opportunities for citizen participation in the business," Kobia said.
Kobia expressed hope that positive achievements will be observed in negotiations on Azerbaijan's accession to the World Trade Organization in the near future.
Along with cooperation between Azerbaijan and Europe in the field of energy, Kobia stressed the importance of developing the cooperation in the non-oil sector.
The ambassadors of other European countries to Azerbaijan delivered speech. They stressed the development of cooperation between Azerbaijan and European countries not only in the energy sector but also in other sectors of the economy.
Czech ambassador to Azerbaijan Radek Matula said that the Czech Chamber for Work with the CIS countries will be opened in Baku in the first half of 2013.
"This is important and will further expand cooperation between Azerbaijan and the Czech Republic, as well as other CIS countries," he said.
The ambassador said that the cooperation between Azerbaijan and the Czech Republic in the economic sphere is developing well. In particular, as of 2012, the trade turnover between the two countries is expected to reach 1.4 billion euros.
