German company Dornier System Consulting will continue implementing IDEA projects (transport dialogue and coordination of transport networks) of the Transport Corridor Europe-Caucasus-Asia (TRACECA), TRACECA National Secretary on Azerbaijan Akif Mustafayev told Trend today.
"Dornier System Consult won the tender again," he said. "In February it plans to start implementing the second phase of this project."
He added that the company's choice for the second time is rational, because it is familiar with the project. The process of choosing a new contractor would require additional time for him to familiarize with the project.
Mustafayev did not rule out the possibility that the chosen company will put the issue of holding TRACECA Third Investment Forum on the agenda. The company has already organized investment forums in 2011 and 2012.
TRACECA is an international transport cooperation programme between the EU and its partner countries in Eastern Europe, the South Caucasus and Central Asia. It has a permanent secretariat in Baku, Azerbaijan.
Currently, TRACECA's member states are Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, Moldova, Romania, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Ukraine and Iran.
