Georgia's foreign trade turnover with the EU countries has decreased by seven per cent.
In January 2013, Georgia's trade turnover with the EU amounted to $179 million, or seven per cent less compared to the same figure last year.
As the Georgian Statistics Service told Trend on Monday, exports amounted to $40 million (a six per cent increase) and imports $139 million (an 11 per cent decrease). The share of the EU in Georgia's foreign trade turnover hit 27 per cent, including exports 20 per cent and imports 30 per cent (figures in January 2013 at 29, 24 and 31 per cent).
Some 37 per cent of the trade deficit (in January 2012 - 34 per cent) accounted for European Union countries.
