Turkmenistan to declare new tenders for construction in “Avaza” seaside resort area

Sectoral ministries and government agencies of Turkmenistan plan to announce new tenders for construction of hotels and sport complexes in national tourist zone "Avaza" situated on the coast of Caspian Sea, an official Turkmen source announced.

Turkmen president Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov signed the respective order.

Ministry of trade is already preparing for realization of the large shopping center construction project in "Avaza".

Construction works should start this month and end in December 2014.

The issue of the development of the seaside resort was discussed during a governmental meeting. The head of state emphasized that international conferences regularly take place in "Avaza".

"Thereafter the number of foreign guests and tourists is growing. Even larger influx of tourists is expected in the nearest future after putting the railway "North - South" into service and arranging sea tourism in "Avaza"", Berdymuhamedov noted.

He stated that existing infrastructure of the resort is not capable to accommodate all visitors.

The president entrusted to prepare projects of construction of new large leisure centers for 2000 - 3000 people. It is expected that there will be family leisure rooms for reasonable prices in these centers.
