The World Bank (WB) will begin preparing a new working strategy in Azerbaijan next year, the WB Baku office told Trend on Monday.
The term of the four-year strategy will expire in mid. 2014. Preparing a new one which is expected to cover 2015-2019, was one of the issues discussed during WB Regional Director for the South Caucasus Henry Kerali's recent visit to Baku.
"The main issue of course was a programme of actions for the remaining year and a half of the current strategy," the bank said. "Presumably the bank may allocate additional funding within the projects in the field of waste management, improvement of water supply, the development of agriculture and justice that is, in the area we reached success. However, there is no final decision yet."
The actions for the next year and a half will be agreed during this or next month.
Azerbaijan has been a WB member since 1992.
