Iran has launched a huge crane barge, dubbed HL5000, to install offshore oil platforms in the Persian Gulf, the Pana News Agency reported.
The crane has installed 1 2,000-ton platform at the phase 24 of the South Pars gas field.
In the near future, the crane barge will start pulling out the offshore platform of the phase 13 of the South Pars gas field was drowned on January 29 while being installed.
In June 2012, Oil Minister Rostam Qasemi ordered an investment of more than $26 billion in development projects in the South Pars gas field for the current Iranian calendar year which started on March 20, 2012.
